A
factory owner was on a routine visit to his factory. He saw a man sitting
idle in one corner of the factory. The very sight of an idle worker
infuriated him. He went up to him and asked him to stand up. “What’s your
salary?” asked the annoyed owner. “Rs. 3000 only” fumbled the man. The owner
took out Rs. 6000 from his wallet and handing it over to him, yelled, “I pay
people for work and not for sitting idle. So just get out from here”.
Turning to other employees who were shocked by this sudden turn of events, he
warned, “and this is applicable to all of you”. An old employee gathered
courage to say, “But Sir, the man was not our employee. He was the Tiffin boy
waiting for the empty tiffin”.
